COLUMBIA (WSPA) – You won’t be able to drive into South Carolina starting Friday without knowing the state is home of the 2016 College Football Playoff champions.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation will install 13 highway signs noting the Clemson Tigers winning college football’s national championship.
The design of the highway sign will be unveiled Tuesday during Clemson Day at the State House in Columbia.
The signs will be installed at South Carolina Welcome Centers. The national championship signs will also be installed starting Friday along three highways for Clemson-bound traffic.
That includes U.S. 76, U.S. 93 and U.S. 123 according to SCDOT.
A sign installation ceremony will be held Friday at 11:00 am off U.S. 76 at Excelsior Mill Road. Some of the signs will be installed next week.
