ANDERSON Co., SC (WSPA) – Markeese David Churchwell, 18, of Anderson has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in connection with the 2016 shooting death of Courvocia Hunter of Anderson, according to the sheriff’s office.
They say Churchwell, Hunter and co-defendant Han’Drikus Webb, were chased by a car travelling on Highway 76 in Anderson County on Sept. 25, 2016 at 2:45 a.m.
The people in the car that was chasing them shot several rounds into their car, according to deputies.
They say Hunter and Webb were wounded.
After the shooting incident, Churchwell and Webb continued to drive around the area instead of calling for medical assistance or taking Hunter to a hospital, according to deputies.
Churchwell and Webb are both charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Deputies say it is due to their reckless disregard.
Churchwell turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office yesterday and has since been released on a $5,000 surety bond, according to the report.
