GREENVILLE CO., S.C. (WSPA) – A man is dead after being hit by two vehicles, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened on East North Street Saturday night.
The pedestrian has been identified as 23-year-old Christian James Batton, according to the Coroner’s Office.
Officials with Highway Patrol say Batton was trying to cross East North St., when he was hit by a vehicle. Officials say he was knocked into the other lane, where he was hit by a second vehicle.
Investigators say the second car did not stay at the scene after Batton was hit. An exact description has not been released, but officials say the second vehicle was a white SUV. Investigators are looking for that vehicle at this time.
SC Highway Patrol reports that the SUV could have damage to the front, undercarriage, and/or wheels due to the collision.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
