SPARTANBURG CO., S.C. (WSPA) – A man has been arrested after leaving a box full of clothing and compromising photos at a woman’s home, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say 24-year-old Billy James Atchley has been charged with harassment and blackmail after leaving the box and a note near the woman’s mailbox.
According to the incident report, Atchley had been seen driving by the home several times and had even been seen standing in the backyard of the home.
Inside the box that was left near the woman’s mailbox were pictures of Atchley holding the woman’s child, as well as compromising pictures of herself, or of herself and Atchley.
The note inside the box said there were several copies of the pictures and that they would be made public unless Atchley was paid, the incident report says.
Atchley admitted to sending the box but said he didn’t know why he did it and that he didn’t need the money.
He was arrested and is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
