ASHEVILLE (WSPA) – Mission Health says it will restrict visitor access at all it’s hospitals and affiliates because of increased reports of the flu across North Carolina.
Only partners and immediate family members – over the age of 12 – will be permitted in patient care areas according to a news release from the hospital. The stipulation for children younger than the restriction has been set whether the child is vaccinated or not.
Mission Health says the restriction is for Mission Hospital and all Mission Health member hospitals and affiliates in the area.
The list includes CarePartners in Asheville, McDowell Hospital in Marion, Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, Angel Medical Center in Franklin and Highlands-Cashiers Hospital in Highlands.
The hospital had already asked family and friends of patients to limit their visits in December because of the threat of the flu.
