This week our Hometown Spotlight segment takes us to Pickens County. 7News Reporter Christine Scarpell and Photographer Ryan Goodman head to Easley.
Marketing Coordinator Lindsay Cunningham said if you’re planning to spend more than an hour in Easley, chances are you’ll catch a few trains passing by as the main rail line runs through the middle of Main Street.
The city also will reveal a new part of The Doodle Trail, a former railroad track than ran from Pickens to Easley and is now paved as a walking trail.
On April 1, Cunningham said the city will open the trail and celebrate their Spring Fling Festival.
City leaders will also unveil a new set of copper miniature trains which will be hidden throughout the city at different landmarks downtown.
There are also plenty of locally owned restaurants you may see as you drive through Easley including The Huddle, Joe’s Ice Cream Parlor, Merrell’s Pizza of Easley and The Starving Artist.
Many eateries have been around for more than a decade.
