Hwy. 29 could reopen soon in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Anderson Department of Transportation say they are close to finishing repairs to the Anderson Highway bridge, also known as the US 29 connector.

Northbound U.S. 29 at the bridge has been closed because a truck hit it.

The truck was pulling an empty container that was too high for the bridge, according to troopers.

Troopers say no one was hurt after the container was knocked off the truck.

Crews are putting in a new guardrail, fix damage to the road due to the accident and the work taking place, and replace some of the guardrail on Highway 29.

They say they have all the equipment in place.

They will removing about five feet of concrete on the bridge.
