ABBEVILLE CO., S.C. (WSPA) – A seven-year-old girl is dead and four others are hurt after a single-car crash that happened at Tornado Road and Martins Road, according to S.C. Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
The driver of the car was traveling north on Tornado Road when he ran off the left side, overturned and struck a ditch, Highway Patrol says.
The man and a woman passenger were not seatbelted and were ejected from the vehicle. They were both airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A four-year-old and a 20-month-old were also injured and were taken by EMS to AnMed.
The four-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. It is unknown if the 20-month-old was restrained.
Their conditions are unknown at this time.
A seven-year-old passenger was not seatbelted and was ejected from the car. The child died at the scene, according to Highway Patrol.
The seven-year-old has been identified as Abigail Harris, according to the Abbeville County Coroner’s Office.
Charges are pending.
