Four people escape house fire in Gaffney early Wednesday

GAFFNEY (WSPA) – Four people safely got out of a home in Gaffney after a fire early Wednesday morning.

The Gaffney Fire Chief says crews were called to the home on 9th Street around 3:00 a.m. Four people – including a woman in a wheelchair – got out of the house before firefighters arrived at the scene.

Chief Jamie Caggiano says there was damage to about 20 percent of the house and roof. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The American Red Cross says it’s assisting the victims with food, clothing, lodging and other essentials.
