UNA, SC (WSPA) – The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire they said started when someone set a pile of clothes on fire on a front porch.
The Una Fire Department says it happened around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. When fire crews arrived at 208 Center Street, they said the fire was almost out after residents threw water on it.
Deputies say two adults and their children were home when the fire started. One resident told the fire chief he heard someone banging on the front door and yell that the back of the trailer was on fire.
The sheriff’s office says it appears to have started after a large amount of clothing on the back porch was set on fire. Limited damage was done to the outside of the trailer.
The residents told the deputies they do not know who may have started the fire.
