GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A man is dead after a hit-and-run crash on White Horse Road near Interstate 85.
Troopers say the collision happened around 10 p.m. Friday as the man was attempting to reach the lane dividing “island.” The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Derek Lamar Jackson, 39, of Hickory Ridge Drive in Columbia.
The involved vehicle was in the left lane when they hit Jackson, and the driver continued south on Whitehorse Road, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s report.
Troopers do not have a description of the vehicle that hit the person.
