Simpsonville man accused of murdering estranged wife

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – A Simpsonville man is charged with the murder of his estranged wife, according to SLED.

Jason Donn Lee, 38, is charged with murder and first degree burglary. He is being held in the Alvin S. Glenn Dentention Center in Richland County.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) says Jason is the estranged husband of Lindsey Nicole Lee.

He was arrested Friday in Simpsonville.

The incident happened in West Columbia, SC on March 13, 2017 around 8:30 p.m., according to the report.

Lexington County Deputies say Jason broke into Lindsey’s home and attacked his wife when she got home. She died from a cut to her neck.

Lindsay was an employee of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office, according to SLED.

SLED says a deputy conducted a welfare check on her when she did not show up at work. That’s when they found her body.

SLED is investigating at the request of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

“I’d like to thank Chief Mark Keel for his willingness to provide agents to lead the investigation into Lindsey’s death,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “SLED stepped in and helped us during a very difficult time. Because of their continuous hard work, Lindsey’s family can hopefully gain some sense of closure as they continue to grieve in the weeks and months ahead as they begin to heal.”
