GREER, SC (WSPA) – Five students were suspended after a girl was hit in the head with a bottle during two fights at Riverside High School.
Those students have been charged, according to Greer Police.
Witnesses told police the fight started over a boy walking with a girl to class.
Students told police that Breann Lillian Gaylord and a boy were walking together to class.
Alisha Sarrose Freeman then went and told the boy’s ex-girlfriend that she saw this.
There was a confrontation, but nothing happened at that point, according to the report
On 3/20 Freeman confronted Gaylord and asked her if she wanted to fight, say police.
The report says Gaylord asked why and Freeman told her it was because she walked with her friend’s ex on Friday.
Freeman then hit Gaylord, according to the warrant.
The warrant says Gaylord responded by hitting Freeman in the head with a glass bottle.
At this point A’maya Davis jumped in and hit Gaylord, according to police.
A school administration and students were removing the victim, two other female students, N’Kearh Martin and Natajah Cruell started to fight, according to the report.
Parents at the school received a phone call telling them about the incident.
The call says the girl who was hit with a bottle was treated by the school nurse and released to her mother.
