SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Aaron Bertelsen’s The Great Dixter Cookbook has been listed by the Wall Street Journal as one of the five most influential cookbooks of the year.

He is a gardener and cook at a 14th century house in southern England.

Bertelsen is speaking at the Spartanburg Community College downtown campus on Thursday at 6 p.m. The event includes a lecture, dinner, and the cookbook. Tickets are available the day of the event and are $60 per person or $100 per couple.

The recipes in Bertelsen’s book are inspired by his grandparents and the late Christopher Lloyd, a British gardener and author, whose birthplace is the cookbook’s namesake. Bertelsen now grows and cooks everything himself at Great Dixter.
