GREER, S.C. (WSPA) – Many people across the Upstate woke up to find damage to their homes and cars after a round of hail storms on Tuesday.
Hail pummeled parts of Spartanburg and Greenville counties. Reports came in across the area of hail the size of quarters, ping pong balls and even golf balls.
The storms damaged roofs, cars and more.
Local roofing company, Storm Team Construction, said phone calls started pouring in shortly after the storm started. Project Manager Brian Scoles was out early on Wednesday morning inspecting houses and roofs for damage.
“It certainly is the most significant hail storm that we’ve seen in the Greenville area since about 1985,” said Scoles.
Scoles said it’s going to be a busy week of helping people with damaged homes. He estimates damages in the area could be higher than $100 million.
