SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — The families of three victims in a fatal crash in Boiling Springs in December, hope to hold the bar responsible that served the man authorities say was drunk when he crashed into the victims.
Boiling Springs Ale House has three pending lawsuits against them, after a fatal crash involving patron Hollis Brock.
Lawyer Patrick Knie says witnesses place Brock at the Ale House right before the crash, and that Brock admitted in a statement to drinking in excess.
The families of two young women who died and the surviving victim are all suing, stating that the Ale House over served Brock and didn’t provide him with a safe way to get home.
State law requires bartenders not serve patrons who are intoxicated.
Brock has been charged with two counts each of felony DUI resulting in death, felony DUI resulting in great injury and other crimes. He remains in jail without bond.
