Robbery reported at 2nd Spinx location in Spartanburg Co.

Laurens Co. deputies investigate sexual assault

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – A second Spinx gas station has been robbed in as many days in Spartanburg.

Dispatchers say a robbery was reported around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Spinx store located at 1605 John B White Sr Blvd.

The three employees who were there at the time say one of them was taking out the trash.

When she opened the service door, a person wearing a mask, purple surgical gloves, gray hoodie and a black jacket swung the door open and pointed the gun at her, according to an incident report.

The suspect demanded money from the drawer, then pointed the gun at another employee and ordered him to open the safe and get the money, the report states.

The suspect grabbed the money and ran out the back door.

Police say an accomplice was waiting out back for the suspect and both ran away.

Tuesday’s robbery happened one day after a robbery at another Spinx store just six miles away.

Deputies say the Spinx at 1989 Southport Road was robbed just before 6 a.m. Monday.

A masked man armed with a handgun robbed that store.

Deputies say that robber could be connected to two other armed robberies in recent days.
