GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Hundreds of people raced through the Greenville Zoo on Saturday morning for the 4th annual “Zoom Through The Zoo 5K.”
The course started in Cleveland Park and continued through the zoo as animals watched from the sidelines.
“Not only is it a great setting, you get to see the animals and come through before the zoo is technically open, but you get a challenging course as well. It’s pretty hilly which for some folks is great and for others not so great, but it’s going to be a fun day,” said Amanda Osborne, executive director of the Greenville Zoo Foundation.
The Pelham Medical Center was the title sponsor for the event for the second year in a row.
“It gives us an opportunity to showcase who we are and gives us an opportunity to give back to the community because of the funds they raise,” said President Tony Kouskolekas.
The event benefits the Greenville Zoo Foundation as well as ALTA, the Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance.
