Well hi, Jack Roper here, we are in Piedmont, South Carolina, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church. We’re giving away our April Caring for the Carolinas award.
PASTOR BENJAMIN SMOAK – MTN SPRINGS BAPTIST
Miss Jean Talbot is one of our members. It’s a ministry she began a number of years ago based on something that she experienced in her own personal life.
PAT GREENE – VOLUNTEER
Jean Talbot had had cancer twice and she wanted to minister to other people. We sew these pillows and then Jean distributes them to people who are… maybe they’re taking chemo,…
KARLEE BENSON – REGISTERED NURSE
They’re comfort pillows that miss Jean brings are just that, they’re comfort. Patients are scared, they’re overwhelmed when they come in for their treatment. So when we can hand them a pillow from someone who’s been through the same thing that they are going through, it is just that, it’s a comfort. People know that someone cares about them.
Where all do you send the pillows?
JEAN TALBOT – AWARD WINNER
They can be anywhere a person refers another person who has cancer, or is in need. We have mailed pillows almost all over the united states. We just sent some to Pennsylvania, and we’ve been to West Virginia, Texas, Florida…
PASTOR BENJAMIN SMOAK
Just out of her desire to help other folks, the one thing you’ll notice about miss Jean is her love for people.
Thanks to our Sponsors, Ingles, Bath Fitter and Hardee’s, Jean Talbot is our Caring for the Carolinas award winner for the month of April. Jean also receives a free Hardees Thickbuger, once a week for a year. Inspiring and setting an example for the Carolinas Family.
