Ambulance involved in crash in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG CO., S.C. (WSPA) – A Spartanburg County EMS vehicle was involved in an accident on Asheville Hwy Wednesday just after noon according to county dispatch and the SC Highway Patrol.

The collision happened near the intersection of Old Furnace Rd. around 12:30 p.m. reports Highway Patrol.

Spartanburg County dispatch says that the ambulance was transporting a patient from a crash scene to the hospital when a car attempting to move over for the EMS hydroplaned into its side.

There were no injuries due to the collision, reports Highway Patrol.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the ambulance is being charged with driving too fast for conditions.
