GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – You could help a local non-profit just by shopping for groceries.
All day Thursday, the Whole Foods Market on Woodruff Road in Greenville is donating 5 percent of its sales to Livewell Greenville.
Livewell Greenville is a local non-profit focused on helping the community live an active and healthy lifestyle.
They work with organizations in the community like the hospital system, school districts and other non-profits to give people in Greenville County easier access to healthy food and exercise options.
The money raised on Thursday with Whole Foods will be a big help.
“If it is at home, at work, at schools at play or at worship, we’re able to build a system that increases access of healthy food and active living for everyone in greenville county,” said Erica McClesky, the partnership coordinator for Livewell Greenville.
Whole Foods donates proceeds to charity four times a year as part of its Community Giving Day program. They encourage local charities to apply for the program by clicking here.
