2 arrested after gunshots reported at Asheville Mall, police say

ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Asheville City Police says they received a report of shots fired at the Asheville Mall on Tunnel Rd.

They say no one was hit and they are still investigating.

Two people have been arrested after police heard multiple gunshots and followed a fleeing car near the Asheville Mall.

The incident happened at about 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The officers were in the area looking for suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred a jewelry store when they responded to the gunshots.

The robbery happened at Spicer Greene Jewelers.

Police located the fleeing vehicle at Ledgewood Village Apartments and took the two suspects into custody.

This incident is not related to the armed robbery that occurred at the jewelry store.
