1 hospitalized after car hits building on S. Pine St. in Spartanburg

Car hit building in spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A car crashed into a building on South Pine Street, according to Spartanburg Fire officials.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

It happened in the 900 block, near Forest Avenue.

The driver of the car had to be freed from the car and was taken to the hospital. There is no word on the person’s condition at this time.

Officials say the building had very little exterior damage.

They say the inside of the building is in the process of being remodeled.

According to the accident report, the driver of the car told police that the passenger in the car grabbed the steering wheel causing the car to crash into the wall.
