Cops on the Coop raises more than $11K for Special Olympics

(WSPA) — Chick-fil-A, the Greenville Police Department, and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office presented a check for $11,400 to Special Olympics South Carolina on Tuesday. Law enforcement officers from both departments raised the money during their first Cops on the Coop fundraiser held last week.

The Special Olympics says its mission is to provide sports training and athletic competitions to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in order to give “them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.”
