Clemson water taste & odor issue expected after algae bloom

CLEMSON, SC (WSPA) – The City of Clemson says they are expecting significant customer taste and odor complaints soon.

They say lab results show a significant MIB algae bloom in Lake Hartwell in the past seven days.

The increase in lake temperature and significant rainfall in May is responsible for the bloom, according to the city.

They say lake treatment will begin ASAP and your water is safe for all uses.
