The Franklin School planned for North Spartanburg

Families in Spartanburg will soon benefit from a new preschool called The Franklin School.

It’s part of the Northside Initiative.

Spartanburg County First Steps, USC Upstate, The Mary Black Foundation and the Northside Development Group are working together to build and operate it.

The school will provide early childhood education to students ages 6 weeks to 5 years old in a state-of-the-art learning center.

The new school will be on Howard Street and accommodate about 200 students.

Construction is expected to start in spring 2018 and the school open by 2019.
