(WSPA) — All lanes of I-85 northbound have reopened after a deadly crash in Oconee County claimed the life of a Georgia woman.
Oconee County Fire Chief Charlie King said two tractor-trailers and a SUV crashed around 12:25 p.m. Wednesday.
The S.C. Highway Patrol says the SUV hit the back of a disabled tractor-trailer that was pulled over into the emergency lane. The crash then caused the SUV to hit another tractor-trailer.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says Alyssa Hartfield Wright, 28, of Covington, Georgia, died from trauma.
Addis says she was wearing a seat belt, but the force of the impact threw her from the vehicle.
Her husband was taken to the hospital.
Addis says Wright and her husband were traveling to Winston-Salem to visit family.
