GREENWOOD Co., S.C. (WSPA) – Deputies say two people are expected to be OK after a plane crash in Greenwood County.
The FAA says a Cessna T337D aircraft crashed in a wooded area while on approach to the Greenwood County Airport around 7:30 a.m. Friday.
Greenwood County Sheriff Dennis Kelly says responders were on scene within minutes of receiving the report.
Two passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries described as non life threatening. A spokesman at Self Regional Healthcare said both are in serious but stable condition shortly before noon.
The plane cashed in a wooded area located between the airport and Leath Correctional Institution.
The crash didn’t interfere with operations at the nearby prison or the airport, Sheriff Kelly said.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
