Crews investigating Duncan house fire

SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — Three fire departments worked to put out a house fire in Duncan early Thursday morning.

The house is on Allison Drive off Spartanburg Road.

Dispatch says the call came in just after 2 a.m.

Duncan Fire Department Chief Barry Frost said firefighters were on scene within four minutes of receiving the call. They found 90 percent of the roof in flames.

Chief Frost said the house had been on fire for some time. It’s located on a dead-end street and was spotted by a driver on Spartanburg Road, he said.

No one was there when the fire started, and it’s unknown if anyone lives at the house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Startex and Tyger River fire departments also responded to the fire.
