GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – A two-story home was damaged when a fire broke out Monday night in Greenville County.
The home is located on Meadowrise Lane near Five Forks.
Firefighters from Clear Spring Fire Department got the call at 8:25 p.m. and were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
Fire Chief Gabe Mull says flames were coming out of the top of the garage when firefighters arrived.
The two people home at the time of the fire were able to get out of the house quickly and call for help.
Chief Mull told 7News that it appears the fire started on the back patio.
Much of the damage was contained to the attic and second floor, according to officials.
The Red Cross says it’s helping the family who lived there, including one child and four adults with food, clothes and lodging.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
