Cell phone service back to normal in Union Co.

Union Co. Emergency Management Director Rob Fraim says all cell service has returned to normal.

He said there was no cell phone service for those with Verizon and AT&T in Union Co. Thursday morning.

Fraim confirms a fiber line was cut in Cowpens.

We are checking to see if the problem has been resolved in Cherokee Co. as well.

Cherokee Co. Schools issued the following:

Please be advised that an AT&T fiber optic cable has been cut causing a system wide outage in our area. Phones and Internet are down at all schools except Gaffney High School and the District Office. AT&T has informed us that they are working diligently to resolve this issue. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
