Gaffney woman dies 5 days after Cherokee Co. crash

CHEROKEE Co., S.C. (WSPA) – The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office says a Gaffney woman who was injured in a crash on Monday, December 11 has died.

Coroner Dennis Fowler says 70-year-old Linda Pridmore died Saturday evening at Spartanburg Medical Center where she had been hospitalized since the wreck.

According to the Coroner’s Office report, the victim was driving south on Pleasant School Road about 3:00pm on December 11th. She went through a stop sign and hit a Ford pick-up truck at the intersection with Grambling Ferry Road.

After the crash, Pridmore’s car ran off the right side of the road and hit a ditch before stopping in a field.

The coroner says she was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car.

This is Cherokee County’s 20th traffic-related death of 2017, according to the coroner.
