GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – A man was killed after he was struck by a car behind a Hamrick’s store in Greenville County.
The coroner’s office says the crash happened sometime before 8 p.m. Sunday in the back parking lot of the store on Park Woodruff Drive.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Charles Lee Ward.
Trooper Joe Hovis with the S.C. Highway Patrol said Ward is from Simpsonville.
Authorities say Ward died at the scene.
His death remains under investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Troopers say a Greenville woman was in reverse when she hit Ward.
She’s not expected to be charged.
An autopsy is set for Monday.
