GREENVILLE Co., S.C. (WSPA) — A driver was shot on Interstate 385 in Simpsonville around 4:30 Wednesday morning, according to deputies. It all happened near the exit for Highway 417.
Deputies are investigating the shooting and believe that this is an isolated incident.
“It’s very uncommon like typically when you have any type of altercations on a highway whether its road rage or you are upset with another drivers driving pattern you might exchange some words, but its seldom we see any type of violence to this nature,” said Sgt. Ryan Flood with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
Flood tells 7News while multiple shots were fired only one struck the victim and he is expected to be okay, but was transported to the hospital.
Deputies say the shot was reportedly fired from a vehicle described to them as a white Toyota Corolla, but the motive for the shooting is still unclear and under investigation.
